Late Spring Features...

Late Spring Features ...

I have been pottering in my garden for the past few months, promising to get out my watercolours and work on some plant studies. Yet, the undecided weather has proven to be a bit too wet for outdoor watercolours and so I have had to keep myself contented with work on new projects in my glass-covered studio. Here's a sneak preview at some finished and some ongoing paintings I have been busy with in the name of fresh starts and Springtime.

Self Portrait 2012. Oil on Canvas

This self portrait came about through a longing to explore new techniques in my painting, to get 'outside my box' so to speak. It is the first in a series, each of which explores the geometric shapes and how we fit into them (the idea was sparked by the cardigan I am wearing in the portrait).

Admittedly done Summer 2011 (so not really so new) I have included this in my Spring features any way. The flash of green catches my eye every time I walk past this study and reminds me of why the rain is still pouring.

SNEAK PREVIEW...

I am working on my new Masterpiece (!) at the moment and wanted to give you a sneaky peek at what I have been up to! So here you go...

Not much so far! I would love to know if you can guess what the completed picture will be of! This hand is finally coming together now, although there is so much more to be done!
