Autumn's features:

Each season a selection of work from the studio of Teri Anne Scoble will be featured here. As Autumn has been slowly descending upon London this month, this season's post looks at time and how the featured artworks have been subject to the passing of time.

Broken Boat, 2011
Egg tempura, hair and oil on canvas board.

This painting began its life over twenty years ago, when Teri was at home watching her two year old son, James, play with his toy boat. Recently rediscovered rattling around in a drawer as an unfinished painting , the piece was finally completed this year. Painted in egg tempura on canvas board, Teri used James' original baby hair to add texture to the painting a common theme among her artwork (see Dr Vincent Cable MP in Recess, 2011)

Entered into the Annual Hesketh Hubbard Exhibition at The Mall Galleries, London, Broken Boat was voted Best Work in Show at the private view on 1st August 2011.

These two life studies of Gale were created within an hour of each other yet the slight changes between both medium and style mean that the small lapse of time between the two has altered the details to create distinctively different studies.

Gone to Seed, 2008
watercolour on paper

Teri decided to capture this Allium plant as it went to seed in 2008. Left to flourish on it's own in the garden as it went to seed the weight of time slowly bent the stem downwards and left the plant leaning casually over the edge of the mug that shelters its roots.
Painted in watercolour on paper.
